38th Hokkaido University Workshop on Education Design of an Active Learning type course

Target
Faculty members who took their post no longer than 5 years (assistant professor and higher positions, including specially appointed and fixed-term positions), in charge of a class (or plans to be in charge in the future), can participate the workshop for two days.
Capacity
Capacity of Participants: 20-25 people from Hokkaido University, 5-10 people from universities other than Hokkaido University. A total of about 35 people.
Entry fee
The participants need to pay the accommodation fee about 13,000 yen and other fee (including traffic expenses etc.) for the participation of this workshop.

The 39th Hokkaido University Workshop on Education will be hold on October 18-19 ( Kita-Hiroshima ) this year, and the workshop of last year will not be hold inside the Hokkaido University campus.

University education seeks the way to transform the way of learning, from absorbing the knowledge to Self-Directed Learning. However, university faculties have limited opportunities to learn how to educate students.
This workshop is aimed at presenting necessary techniques to understand the fundamentals of education of creating a course, knowing how to create good syllabus with active learning methods, and it’s also an opportunity to have a stimulating talk with researchers and educators in different fields who share the same goals.
