The growing interest in the internationalization of higher education in universities around Japan has attracted many international students. Their rapidly increasing presence is reshaping local campuses, and universities need to answer it by introducing more classes in English as a spoken language. While some international faculty members have been hired, many Japanese faculty members are required to teach their subjects in English.
In this workshop, teachers will be able to learn more about changes at local universities and better understand the various components that need to be taken into consideration while teaching in English. Also, by providing different examples and group discussions, we will consider how to implement some changes into your classrooms, share the best practice and exchange opinions.
This is an intermediate level workshop aimed for teachers, who conduct classes in English.
Beginners are advised to take Teaching in English Workshop (Beginner level).
