Do you spend a lot of time grading reports? Do you have clear criteria for presentations in your classes? Are you able to answer questions from students regarding the grade you’ve given them? Students feel at a loss without adequate feedback, especially for their online classes. On the other hand, although many instructors would like to provide feedback, they do not have the time due to the size of their classes.

Rubrics provide a way to lay out assignment criteria and points of evaluation, allowing students to check their own performance and quickly receive feedback according to pre-defined instructions. They can be used for presentations, reports, and student group work, among other assignments.

This workshop will teach you the basics of how to create and use rubrics. You will be required to complete some materials before the workshop, which will be mostly focused on providing feedback. Participants will watch a video on rubric creation and will then then get the opportunity to create their own.
