Date and time
2018.11.02 (Fri) 17:00-19:00
Venue
Hokkaido University Multimedia Education Building, 3th floor, Studio type Seminar Room

Imagine miscommunication problems like: “I thought I explained something firmly, but it seems I haven’t transmitted it right to the other person …” or “Why did the other person receive it in a particular way, though it was not meant to mean such a thing …”. Did not everyone experience it before? To communicate smoothly between faculty members, staff, and students at the university, it is important to acquire explanatory skills to firmly convey messages to each person.
Therefore, we invited Junko MORI, who was active as an announcer and reporter at Iwate Asahi TV for about 17 years, to be our lecturer. This workshop is an opportunity to learn explanatory skills to transmit knowledge to others.
With this workshop, you will learn points of how to explain things to the other party. You will gain “expressive skills” to tell structure and development of stories that others listen to attentively, also “speaking skills” that helps breaking down walls between you and listeners. You will also learn how to use voice and speed to reach the other party, and “important things other than words”, as well as other skills that lead to various explanatory skill improvements.
