Learning support has been implemented at various universities for many reasons such as quality assurance of education and student service However, many universities have problems with students not using learning support for reasons such as a lack of awareness about it.
Therefore, we invited Senior Assistant Professor Eiko SHIMIZU from Ehime University’s Institute for Education and Student Support and will hold a workshop to learn from the United States example and think about the learning support required at the participants’ university.
Professor Shimizu’s book called “Academic advising” has been well received as a research aimed at transforming learning support policies at Japanese universities. University faculty and staff members who think about problems in learning support can take advantage of this opportunity.
