Organized by Center for Teaching and Learning IAGE Hokkaido University and Hokkaido FD/SD Council

Generative AI based on large-scale language models is highly convenient, but it can produce outputs with unclear foundations. In this workshop, we will use "NotebookLM," which incorporates teaching materials as a source and provides responses with citations based on that source. NotebookLM can transform materials into various educational resources through dialogues based on uploaded sources, learning guides, mind maps, flashcards, audio and video summaries, slides, reports, and more.
In the first half, participants will input their own teaching materials as sources and experience the visualization of knowledge structures (mind maps) and the generation of educational materials such as review quizzes and audio/illustrative materials. We will confirm the process of transforming materials into multiple formats in a short time and clarify the feasibility of implementation in teaching.
In the second half, we will confront the issue of "evaluation," which is closely tied to the convenience of generating educational materials. By conducting a "stress test" where actual report assignments are solved by AI, we will visualize the blind spots of current assignments and redesign them into process-oriented proposals that assume the use of AI. Through the creation and sharing of prototypes of these proposals, we aim to experience the series of flows from "design → implementation → sharing → reflection" and bring back strategies for redesigning teaching in the era of coexistence with AI.

Recommended for those who:

・Want to incorporate generative AI into teaching materials and course design.
・Want to test AI utilization based on their own teaching materials with verifiable references.
・Want to revise report assignments and evaluation methods to align with the AI era.

This program focuses on:

 a. Using NotebookLM, it is possible to generate multifaceted teaching materials (quizzes, diagrams, etc.) from class materials.
 b. Through stress testing of report assignments, it is possible to identify areas for improvement in evaluation design.
 c. It is possible to present task proposals that emphasize processes based on the use of AI.

※Please note that photographs will be taken during the session for use in publicity activities and other promotional materials.
