Opportunities requiring facilitation and coaching skills arise frequently in workplaces, ranging from small groups like laboratories and departmental units to entire organizations.  Both are skills that should be acquired for smooth organizational management.

We are pleased to welcome Prof. Hidenori Matano from Kochi University to conduct two training sessions. The facilitation workshop aims to enable participants to conduct more productive discussions by understanding the concepts and skills of facilitation. The objectives include being able to "distinguish between three types of meetings," "differentiate between content and process in discussions," and "identify key points for designing discussion settings."

The coaching workshop, on the other hand, will cover the basics and practical applications of coaching skills. The goals are to be able to "explain the basic coaching model," "clarify the purpose of questions," and "provide feedback with key points." This training is designed to give participants tips on how to support and engage team members to create a more conducive and empowering work environment. Both faculty and administrative staff are welcome to participate, and it is also possible to attend only one of the sessions.
