This workshop marks the inaugural session of our faculty development (FD) series dedicated to integrating generative AI into higher education. Our core aim is to empower participants to design and prototype custom AI tools specifically tailored to their educational goals, leveraging OpenAI's ChatGPT "MyGPT" feature.
MyGPT offers robust customization, enabling users to define dialogue styles, knowledge retrieval scope, and response tones. This hands-on session will guide you through designing your own AI tool for use in your classes, exercises, or research supervision. The emphasis is on cultivating a "how to design AI" mindset, moving beyond simply "how to use AI."
Participants will utilize a dedicated custom GPT (design support tool) to create their prototypes during the workshop. These prototypes will then be uploaded to a shared exhibition page, fostering peer testing and collaborative feedback for refinement. The session concludes with a concise self-assessment, evaluating prototypes based on educational alignment, practicality, reusability, and ethical considerations. This ensures that the design experience translates into tangible potential for your teaching practices. The prototype exhibition page will remain accessible post-workshop for ongoing follow-up and collaboration.
Recommended for those who:
・Want to learn practical methods for utilizing generative AI in educational activities ・Are curious about the capabilities of current generative AI services
This program focuses on:
1.Mastering the "MyGPT" feature of ChatGPT and experiencing the fundamental elements needed for customization (system prompts, file integration, instruction design) 2.Designing a MyGPT tailored to your teaching or research activities and completing it as a prototype 3.Sharing and commenting on completed MyGPT prototypes with others to learn perspectives for design improvement
※Please note that photographs will be taken during the session for use in publicity activities and other promotional materials.
