Universities have recently shifted to online classes. For many faculty members, this is the first time to undertake such responsibilities. For students too, the majority of whom are unable to come to campus, there are a great deal of complications which arise every day from taking online classes often in the seclusion of their homes.
 
Students and faculty alike are still becoming accustomed to this way of education and have a growing number of concerns and questions. It is paramount that universities provide appropriate learning opportunities, but what does this actually entail? How can we as educators enable students to responsibly and proactively learn?
 
We would like to invite several first-year Hokkaido University students to talk about their views of online classes, the challenges they face, and their ideas. By listening to their voices, we are able to incorporate student perspectives into our classes and curricula.

Due to popular demand, we will be offering this event on two time slots: July 9th (Thurs.) 13:00–14:00 and July 16th (Thurs.) 17:00–18:00.
