社会のグローバル化が進行し，大学においても留学生は増加の一途をたどっており，英語による授業や英語でコミュニケーションできる教職員のますますの増加が期待されているところです。
そこで，株式会社アルク教育社によるリスニング力向上のための研修とスピーキング力向上のための研修を開催します。リスニング研修では「読めばわかるけど聞くとわからない」「ついつい日本語で考えてしまう」といった方を対象に，英語を英語で理解できるようになるためのトレーニングと自己学習法の習得を目指し，スピーキング研修では「間違いが怖くて話せない」「とっさに言葉が出てこない」といった方を対象に，「何を話すか」「どう話すか」を同時に行うことができるようになるためのトレーニングを行います。

With progressing globalization of society and an increasing number of the international students at Hokkaido University, the ability to use English to teach and freely communicate is expected from the faculty staff.
Therefore, Hokkaido University Center for Teaching and Learning will host a training for improving English speaking and listening skills. The training will be provided by the ALC EDUCATION INC.
Listening training is aimed for those people who “understand when they read English, but not when they listen to it”, and those who “think only in Japanese”. Participants will get familiar with some self-learning methods in order to be able to both think and understand in English.
The target of speaking training are people who “do not speak, because they are afraid of making mistakes” and “try to talk, but words won’t come out”. During the training, at the same time the participants will learn “what to talk” and “how to talk”.
